Choral Speaking Competition 2014 - SKS9

What makes one extremely happy?
It varies but for most of us, it's when we actually witness our hard work and effort produced a tremendous result.

I'm a teacher and you know what makes me happy?
Seeing my students achieving something that we both wanted so much and they actually dedicating it to me.

When I entered this school for internship, I fretted out a little knowing that, I can always survive in new places with my communication skills. What terrified me was how the STUDENTS going to accept me.

As a teacher who teaches from the textbook?

As a friend who listens and solve their petty little problems?

Or as an elder girl that trying to inspire them in any way?

As time passes, I learnt the best way is to be ALL of the above.

All four of us were assigned to train the school's first ever Choral Speaking team for the competition. We picked the students through auditions and had countless practices that filled with harsh scoldings and motivations.

But when things get intense, the senior teachers took over and ever since that we four don't even attend the practices. We just felt like we were discriminated. You know, the normal emotion rush we had.

I don't know why but the students are quite fond of me. Well they do like my other 3 colleagues but it seems I'm always their "Teacher Choral Speaking".

So their big day is today.  They competed with 12 schools and guess what they won the 4th place and qualified to finals

Annnnnnnndddddddd they all ran towards me and gave a group hug. Showered me with, "Thank you teacher!" and "We won!"

I almost cried. I'm so proud of my kids that I don't even have words to express it. Yes, a teacher's pride is always her/his students' success.

Actions or Words?

Actions speak louder than words?
Everything in this world has been done in either social contextual or personal belief. Be it words or actions, both really depends on the person's intellectual and view on it. You can say wise words but don't act good or vice versa.  But if I can't accept your words/actions, your intention doesn't matter actually.

I had experiences with someone who said he believes my actions more and therefore I wasn't being truthful to him because I DON'T act that way. But does he know that I mean every single word I uttered and just because I am not really a 'action' person, I'm hurt by his accusations?

It all comes down to you.
You think his/her words are good, you will believe.
You think his/her actions are good, you will believe.
Because nothing else would matter as much as the person in your life.

Updates!

This post serves no purpose. I was asked to update this blog more often. *taps the dust and coughs* So another attempt to revive this blog.

Guess what I'm a trainee teacher now. Like teaching in real life! No worries, even I don't think I can survive all these while.

So I'm already halfway through my practicum and trust me, I gained a lot of experiences especially in the sense of communication.  I have to step outside my comfort zone and learn how to talk to my fellow colleagues and my students' parents.

And living in a new place with new people. More experiences! *faint 'Yay'*

More updates, coming soon! Coming soon!

An attempt of revival!

So *plays with fingers* hello again to my very-much-abandoned blog. Kinda feel bad due to the sudden on and off affection towards it.

First thing first, UPDATES!

I'm almost done with my Diploma in TESL. Yes, those freaking 2 and plus plus years. Plenty of memories, awesome knowledge transfer, special bondings with awesome people and so much of self-realization. Currently, I'm waiting for my 3-months of practicum in most likely, February 2014. Me being a primary school teacher. Weirdest thing ever!

And please don't ask my relationship status. Very much complicated. Enough said.

I'm still in love with TVXQ/JYJ/DB5K, owning my purple laptop and watching K-dramas and animes. Nothing changed much, I guess.

So what's the purpose of this post? Nothing. I just wanted to revive since I have more or less four months till my practicum and I have nothing better to do. I want to be a bit more expressive since I'm a Scorpio and revealing our inner feelings is not in our nature.

The next post shall have a purpose. Till then, adios!

Complications in love

Actions are louder than words. And yet, it's easier to utter the words than performing it.

Move on~ Move on~ He doesn't deserves you~ Move on~ Just freaking MOVE ON!

Well, I tried everything to actually move on from him. Only to find myself later at nights crying to want him and nothing else.

It sucks.

I waited 17 months for him. After his rejection, I waited that long. Why I did that, I don't know for myself.

I will be telling my house mates and friends that I actually going to get into a serious relationship and stuffs like that. But they knew me better that deep in my heart, I still wants him.

I truly miss how we were. I miss his voice for God's sake! But why is it so hard for him to understand?

Why boys are being way so complicated when they blindly blame the girls for being complicated?

Remember this boys : The complicated you is what brings out the complicated self in a girl. It's like a mirror. You lead her on and says you couldn't get into a relationship with her, then how can you not expect her to be addictive and annoying as much as she can be?

Is it hard to stay faithful in a relationship? I mean I knew you will be telling "I love you" and "Muaxxx" every chance that you get but that doesn't define a true relationship. You broke your loyalty to your partner when you flirt with another girl/boy. It starts off like that, seriously.

And how much maturity a young couple has at the age of 14 that blindly refusing any other person that willing to care and love for them? Yes, I agree maturity doesn't come with age. I prefer to label maturity as something that comes with the experience and the first love you had at the age of 14 is so not experience-provider. And yet blames my presence is late for you to fall in love again. Pfftt~

Now, how can I not to be addicted to these things?

Time to introduce my current addictions for the last 6 months!

Don't walk but run!

I'm sure by now most of the search hits for this post by the label 'running man' should know how awesome Running Man show is. It is a Korean television game/variety show where 6 members will complete a mission every week with guest for the week. I bet you if you need a great deal of laughter on a stressful day, then this is the best show to watch

JoongKi is no longer a member but early episodes of him are as crazy as it always will be.

2. Anirudh and Dhanush

On the left is Anirudh Ravichander and on the right is Dhanush.
So who don't know about them? Does "Why This Kolaveri Di" rings a bell to you?
Bingo!
Anirudh Ravichander is a young music composer who composed the global viral song "Why This Kolaveri?" at the age of 20 in 2011. The song is featured in Dhanush's movie entitled "3" which was directed by Dhanush's wife, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth's eldest daughter and Anirudh's cousin, Aishwariya Dhanush. I already did a review on the movie here

Dhanush on the other hand, is already in cinema industry for years with his ultimate breakthrough came with his commercially hit movie, Thiruvilayadal Arambam. The major turn was when he started to go off-acting line and indulged in lyric writing and singing. Yes, Dhanush can sing. The first song he sang was "Un mele asaithan" in his brother's movie "Ayirathil Oruvan". So lyrics for "Why This Kolaveri" song (and other songs in '3') were written by Dhanush and also sang by him. Trust me, this song is addictive.

Watch the promo video of Why This Kolaveri in HD!

I know you all must be wondering why I'm talking two people who did something great way back then in 2013. Well, good news to the lovers of these two young men. They are joining forces again for "Ethir Neechal" which is produced by Dhanush and wrote lyrics and sing for 2 songs if I'm not mistaken. And Anirudh has just again proved his God-ly music making talent. I'm so in love with the songs in the movie. My recommendations would be :-

Singers : Dhanush and Anirudh
Lyrics : Dhanush

Singer : Anirudh
Lyrics : Dhanush

Singers : Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Goshal
Lyrics : Vaali

Bonus! 2 more songs that I have been replaying all this while.
Music : Anirudh
Singer : Anirudh

Music : A R Rahman
Singers : Sakthisree Gopalan and ARR
Watch the unplugged version on MTV Unplugged!

Note : I can't embed the videos since all the songs can only be watched on Sony Music Entertainment@YT. So the links would direct you there.

3. Hyouka

This is a 22-episode anime where the main attraction would be the main lead Houtarou Oreki's attitude. Yes, he's could the most laziest anime character that you might have come across in your anime-ing years. And yet, his logical inference and awkwardness will make you fall for him. Right after the first episode itself. I love his motto as well. It sounds so...err...lazy

Watch Hyouka here

4. Drawing

I'm not such a good artist when it comes to drawing. I guess it's pretty much in my genes since both my brother and father are very much good at drawing. How I wish I can draw as well as them?

Not so much of techniques used but I guess it's the closest  I can copy as the original one.

Old works of copying. So this copying skills lead me to another hobby or money-making business. Yup, drawing mehendi/henna.

Resolutions for 2013

I'm the type of the person who sticks to the "Don't make resolutions if you don't have any plans of making it work out" phrase. So yeah, I'm posting my resolutions for 2013 on my blog so that by the end of 2013, I can check whether I actually made an effort to making my wishes come true ;-)

1. Finish my Diploma in TESL with satisfying (I'm actually targeting an overall of 3.5 or above CGPA) pointer.

2. Get at least 3 As for mid-semester exams and at least 2 As for the final examinations. If I did what can get myself more than that, then I'm grateful for it.

3. To actually work out the chemistry between him and me till I can actually bring our friendship to the next level. I'm selfish and wants him for me alone.

4. To maintain a healthy relationship with my family members and friends around me. No jealousy, no fighting, no badmouthing and no spreading rumor business.

5. To own a freaking smartphone Samsung Galaxy S2. I just don't know why but I'm just head over heels with this model. Gotta own it and use it like a boss. Oh yeah, and a cool purple casing to go along with it.

6. To somehow manage my financial expenses better than last year. Money really matters when you are away from home. No wonder they say home is heaven ;-)
